The rules
Meenando doesn’t hold your money and doesn’t take a cut. What it does instead is make everyone accountable. These rules are enforced by the software, not by goodwill.
1. Verification unlocks ability
- Browse — anyone, no account.
- Phone verified — post up to 2 open requests. One mobile number per account.
- ID verified — make offers, post up to 10 requests, post high-value requests. One government document per account, ever.
- Verified business — dealer badge; required for regulated categories where a country allows them (e.g. medicine in Egypt needs a pharmacy licence).
2. Offers are private and complete
Sellers must fill in the category’s full form — for a car, the real photos, mileage, licence and inspection details; for property, the ownership papers and exact size. Only the buyer sees offers. An offer can’t be edited after sending, only withdrawn, and withdrawals are counted on your profile. A buyer may counter once. Contact details are blocked in requests, offers and messages.
3. Every accepted deal is closed
When a buyer accepts, a private chat opens. Each side shares their phone number only when they choose to, with a button — never by typing it. Both sides must report the outcome within 7 days: completed, cancelled, or the other party didn’t show. If nobody reports, both accounts are frozen until it’s resolved. If the reports contradict each other, a dispute opens and our team decides from the chat record.
4. Reputation comes only from closed deals
Ratings can be given only on completed deals, one per side. Profiles show completed deals, completion rate, no-shows and withdrawn offers. There is no way to buy or fake any of it.
5. Strikes
Breaches add points. At 6 points you’re suspended for 7 days, at 10 for 30 days, and at 15 you’re banned permanently — your identity and devices with you. Points expire after 12 months.
| Breach | Points |
|---|---|
| Offering a counterfeit item (confirmed) | 15 |
| Trying to open a second account with the same identity | 15 |
| Requesting or offering a prohibited item | 10 |
| Abusive or threatening messages | 6 |
| Item materially different from the offer | 5 |
| Being found at fault in a dispute | 4 |
| Backing out of a deal you agreed to (seller) | 3 |
| Not showing up to a meeting you agreed to | 3 |
| Not reporting the outcome of a deal in time | 2 |
| Sharing a phone number or handle before an offer is accepted | 1 |
| Other breaches, at moderator discretion | 1 |
6. Prohibited
Weapons, controlled substances, counterfeit goods, stolen goods, and anything illegal to trade in the request’s country. Some categories are switched off per country; where medicine is allowed, only licensed pharmacies can answer and a prescription is required where the law requires one.
