Privacy policy

Trust on Meenando depends on verifying people — so we collect more than a typical marketplace. This policy says exactly what, why, and how little we keep.
What we collect
Your phone number (to sign in), display name, country and city. For identity verification: your full name and date of birth as printed on the document, and the document type. For business verification: registration and licence details and documents.
What you post: requests, offers, photos, deal messages, ratings and reports. Technical data: device and browser signals used to stop bots and fraud.
What we never keep
We never store your ID number. We keep only a one-way fingerprint of it, which lets us stop one document backing two accounts but cannot be turned back into the number. ID images and selfies go to our verification provider and are deleted from our storage once checked.
Who sees what
Other users see your display name, city, verification badges, completed-deal record and ratings. A buyer’s request is public without the buyer’s contact details. Offers are seen only by the buyer. Phone numbers are shown only when you choose “Share my number” inside a deal.
Moderators can see what is needed to review a report, dispute or verification. Partner businesses receive only aggregated, anonymous demand statistics — never personal data.
Why we use it
To run the service, verify identities, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce the rules, resolve disputes, comply with the law, and improve Meenando. We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep it
Account data for as long as your account is open. After you close it, we delete or anonymise it within 90 days, except the document fingerprint and ban records of banned accounts, and records we must keep by law.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data and object to certain uses, under the data-protection law of your country (for example Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law, the GDPR in Europe, or Saudi Arabia’s PDPL). Contact privacy@meenando.com; we answer within 30 days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited and logged, and verification documents are held in a private store separate from public photos.
